What is Nicky Velour

What is nicky velour?

Nicky velour is not a fabric we often see in North America and that is a shame!  It is widely used in Europe being such a wonderfully fun and versatile fabric.  

Nicky is made in a similar way to familiar jersey knit fabrics but knitted with larger loops.  These loops are then shaved off giving the fabric a soft, fuzzy feel. It is similar in feel to minky but with 2 distinct difference; it's stretchy making it perfect for clothing, and it's predominately made of cotton and not polyester.  Kids will feel cool and comfortable in nicky velour, unlike more sythentic products.  If kids aren't comfortable, they won't wear it!  

An excellent choice for kids/baby clothing from leggings, to hats, to jackets, to shirts, to pants, to blankets!  Ever thought of backing a quilt in nicky?  :)  Those who do, say it's the only way to go!
